Where does Ajio Charapita originates, and where does it grow now?

Aji Charapita (Wild Peruvian Chili Pepper in English) is a famous tropical heirloom pepper that was thought to be extinct for over 50 years until it was rediscovered in the Amazon rainforest of Peru, exactly between and along the Ucayali and Amazon rivers, mainly in the regions of Loreto and Ucayali and partly in the regions of Amazon, San Martin and Madre de Dios.

Outside of Peru, fresh Charapitas are almost impossible to get. Besides one Farm, Charapita Farms LLC. in Miami, USA,. there is since 2017 a small farm production in Vietnam. There are two more companies in India and in New Zealand selling only Dried Charapitas, the Kilo (1000 gr / 2.2 lbs) for $ 8,000 USD mostly imported dry from Peru.
